We are an emerging traffic control and barricading provider launching operations in Tucson, AZ. We specialize in providing safe, compliant, and efficient work zone setups for local utilities, civil construction, and municipal projects.
Position Overview (Important Contract Terms)
We are seeking a highly experienced, certified Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) who will also serve as our appointed Qualifying Party (QP) to secure our Arizona ROC commercial contracting license.Crucial Deferred Compensation Structure: Please note that our business is in the final pre-licensing stage. We cannot legally perform work or process payroll until our AZ ROC license is active.The Agreement: The ideal candidate will sign the ROC Qualifying Party paperwork upfront. In exchange, you will receive a guaranteed employment contract, a sign-on bonus or retainer structure, and immediate full-time work as our Lead TCS the day the license becomes active. We anticipate this process taking roughly 3 to 5 weeks from submission.
Key ResponsibilitiesLicensing Compliance:
Act as the official Qualifying Party (QP) for our AZ ROC license application and maintain compliance with ROC standards.
Field Supervision: Supervise, set up, and tear down temporary traffic control zones (lane closures, detours, sidewalk closures) across the Tucson metro area.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all field setups strictly adhere to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) guidelines.
Crew Leadership: Train and mentor daily flaggers and technicians on safety protocols.Client Interface: Meet with inspectors and project managers on job sites to verify traffic control plans.
Required QualificationsCertifications:
Current, valid ATSSA (American Traffic Safety Services Association) or IMSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification.
ROC Eligibility: Must meet all AZ ROC requirements to act as a Qualifying Party (clean background check, verifiable trade experience, and ability to pass the AZ ROC statutes/management exam if not already exempt).
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of verifiable, hands-on field experience in traffic control or civil construction.
Driver's License: Clean 3-year Arizona MVR driving record with a valid driver’s license.
Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (sandbags, signs, barricades) and stand for long periods in desert weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits (Post-Licensing)
Hourly Rate: $26.00 – $32.00 / hour (Dependent on depth of experience)Retainer / Sign-on Bonus: $1,000 paid immediately upon active ROC license approval to compensate for the onboarding wait period.Perks: Company truck privileges, paid holidays, and rapid advancement opportunities as the branch grows.
