House:
The house is located in NW Tucson (near PACC) on 4 acres in a very safe and quiet area. Handyperson will have private access to one large bedroom and ½ bathroom. Shared access to full bathroom (with shower and tub), kitchen, living room, yard, porch, and sunroom. The room is basically furnished with a desk, dresser, queen bed and rug (this can be used or removed). House is sparsely furnished.
Includes all utilities (water, gas, electricity (solar), fast Wi-Fi, etc.) Does not include trash or cable. Safe areas to store tools and/or trailer on site.
This is a shared house. Old cat resides in the house in a back bedroom, tortoises reside in the yard. Roommates are very quiet, keep to themselves and are rarely home.
Work:
In exchange for free housing and utilities, we will expect approximately 8 hours of skilled work on the house per week. You can set your own work schedule on the house as long as projects are being completed weekly. We will agree on a few projects, get supplies and then rely on you to check in regularly on progress/ complications, etc. Projects may include: Interior/ exterior painting, bathroom remodeling (plumbing, electrical, tile), floor installation, drywall patches, window installation, landscaping and basic cleaning. Cleaning up after completing projects is mandatory.
We are looking for someone with an eye for detail that will care for the home as if it is their own and has the skills to get projects done in a timely manner. Problem solving, good communication, and the ability to complete tasks efficiently is a must.
Do NOT apply if you:
Drink, smoke, do drugs, this will NOT be tolerated. NO SMOKING & NO DRUGS.
Do not have any construction/ carpentry skills. We are only looking for someone that can work independently and has training/ skills to do a good job.
Don’t appreciate wildlife or animals (this is important).
Additional details:
This is a great opportunity for a returning student that worked construction, someone between jobs or a small family trying to get back on their feet or save up for a house.
Ideally, we are looking for someone long-term but month to month is fine too. The first week is a trial.
Guest will need to be cleared/ agreed upon for both of us.

Pets will be considered on an individual basis (backyard is fenced).
References required and background check. Residency is not required.
