This special 1426-square-foot home sits at the end of a cul-de-sac in the desirable Highland Vista neighborhood. The house, which is on a 0.19-acre lot, has brick construction, tile floors throughout, two bedrooms, one bath, central heating, air conditioning, and evaporative cooling, as well as a large office with its own separate entrance that could be turned easily into a separate AirBnB suite. The back yard features a 3700-gallon spa/pool hybrid with jets, heater, a bench, and a deeper area that has enough room for water aerobics or swimming with a leash. The pool deck includes a ¾ bath with outdoor shower. Back yard is very private with lush drought-tolerant vegetation and a built-in grill. A 200-square-foot shed offers plenty of storage capacity, in addition to the double-closet in each bedroom, hall closet, linen closet, laundry room, and built-in bookcases. The front yard has low-maintenance desert landscape, mountain views, and a semicircular gravel driveway. A public park with a neighborhood pool, soccer field, and running track is a block away, and plenty of shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The house comes with a bond that allows the owners and residents access to the neighborhood pool, which is ideal for families with children.
If you are looking for a personal sanctuary in the heart of the city where you can find peace and tranquility and still be close to shopping, businesses, hospital, public transportation, parks, and bicycle routes and trails, this might be an ideal home for you.
On a personal note, my fiancee and I love this home and are only selling because we are moving out of town once we get married. We love being at the end of this cul-de-sac, which is peaceful and tranquil. Although it feels like we are living out in the desert, we can jump on the 3rd St bike path in minutes and have easy access to all the perks of city living. We often walk to nearby restaurants (e.g. Sauce, Pei Wei, Pita Jungle, Monkey Burger), our favorite coffee house (Savaya), Barnes and Noble, Target, and our neighborhood park, where we love to run or just sit in the grass on warm summer evenings. We have great neighbors whom we will miss, as well as the birds (including a mating pair of hawks), rabbits, and other wildlife. This house is charming. It was love at first sight for me, and I've spent 15 happy years here--the past two with my fiancee. Plus, I hosted a very special event here in December 2007 that transformed the house into a sacred space for me. I will be happy to share more details about that event if you are interested in knowing.
