This Auricon Model 1200 optical sound camera was modified for use on a Kinescope Recorder and has a TV-T shutter to synchronize with a NTSC television monitor. It also has a single lens mount for Kodak S-mount lenses, a variable area optical sound recording head, a red door window to view orthrochomatic (red insensitive) film stock in motion (easily covered for panchromatic or color films), a 1/4"-20TPI tripod socket on the bottom, and a magazine shoe on top to accept 1200'x16mm film magazines (available as separate purchase from seller). This camera originally sold for over $5000 and was designed as a self-blimped (sound dampened) studio camera, and can be restored for that purpose, if desired.
