Vacancies available for adopting a bird, reptile, or invertebrate in need of long-term placement, especially one who’s been left behind, homeless due to a change in life or loss. The Desert Sanctuary Aviary is open for your winged, bird brained buddies.
Hoping to provide a steady home where they’ll be cared for and not passed around? This is not for resale or breeding, just a quiet offer for anyone trying to place an animal with someone who will give them sanctuary for good.
Allow your winged friends to come join the cacophony of Parakeets, their late morning confabs are especially unorganized, but that is par for Parakeets. And there is Gusconite Gusopolous, The GRBT, The Green and Red Bitey Thing, and his pal Puck Puckstein, both are Green Cheek Conures and are unstoppable. And there is a small bevy of Button Quail hopping around and keeping the grounds clean. The air space is shared by a cacophony of others; a few Lovebirds with their wonderful charm and grace, Pip Pipstein [pronounced StIne, like Leonard Bernstein, but relationship status is undetermined], and Pip is a Gambil’s Quail and one of my many protectors, several Cockatiels, 3 of which hang with me in the house and clamber in and out of the aviary. The Finches and Canaries also have a belfry, so they are able to escape the Pandemonium of the Parakeets and enjoy the quieter air space up high. And the undisputed princess of the aviary is Wilbur, an Orange Ring Neck Dove, and one of the calmest birds. There are also other characters, many of them, all enjoying the freedom of NO cages and open air flight. No breeding requirements, no reselling and just free to be a bird.
Some experience with exotic species and unique setups.
If enclosure or supplies can come along, that’s appreciated but not required.
Willing to pick up or meet depending on location.
Feel free to reach out if this sounds like the right fit.
