1960 Musicmaster
I love these old Musicmasters and this one is truly exceptional (sounding and playing!)...it just happened to age into a rich, sweet, fuller sounding Musicmaster than any other I've ever heard!
Here's the description I got from the seller in 2023..nothing's changed:
I have a 1959/1960 Fender Musicmaster in Desert Sand/Tan available for sale
I purchased from the original owner who purchased it new in 1960 and used it as his main guitar throughout the years.
As per an article on the VintageGuitar website...in 1959, there was a slight change to the Desert Sand color. Since this guitar dates to that time, I am assuming it was applied to this guitar.
All parts are original and the neck is straight.
Overall, the guitar is in very good condition for its age, showing an average amount of wear for a guitar this old. There is some fretwear, but it looks to be minimal, and only visible to me on the first five frets.
There are no date markings on the neck, only what looks like a āUā penciled on one side. The serial number on the neck plate fits in with late 1959 or early 1960. The date codes on the pots date to the 47th week of 1959 (November), so it could be argued either ā59 or ā60.
**********
One of the best vintage guitars I have ever had and I fully assumed that it would be a lifetime keeper...but an $8,500 dental bill says different (life intrudes!)
$2000..cash/no trades (lowball offers will be ignored)
