Miller Sales & Engineering, Inc. is a well-established Tucson company serving the mining and industrial industries for over 45 years. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our Fabrication and Pump Repair Departments. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence while supporting successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
• Lead the Fabrication and Pump Repair Departments through department supervisors
• Coordinate production schedules to meet customer deadlines
• Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, and Management
• Oversee pump rebuild quoting and repair operations
• Ensure compliance with OSHA/MSHA safety standards
• Monitor labor utilization, quality, productivity, and operating costs
• Oversee equipment and facility maintenance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Hire, coach, and develop supervisors and employees
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience)
• Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial operations, manufacturing, fabrication, repair, or similar environments
• Proven experience managing supervisors and leading multiple operational departments
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes and mechanical repair operations
• Experience managing safety programs and quality systems
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with pump systems, rotating equipment, or fluid handling equipment
• Experience in engineered-to-order or project-based manufacturing
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
