About Us
Valley Discounts is a fast-growing liquidation and discount retail company specializing in furniture, appliances, tools, home goods, and general merchandise. We purchase truckloads of overstock, returns, and open-box inventory from major retailers and sell them at deeply discounted prices.
We are looking for a highly organized, hands-on Warehouse & Inventory Manager to oversee all warehouse operations, inventory processing, and merchandise flow from truck arrival to sales floor.
Position Summary
The Warehouse & Inventory Manager is responsible for receiving, organizing, processing, storing, and distributing inventory throughout the business. This position leads the warehouse team and ensures merchandise moves quickly, accurately, and efficiently from incoming shipments to the sales floor.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and productive warehouse operation.
Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
Oversee all daily warehouse activities
Lead and manage warehouse employees
Assign daily responsibilities and monitor productivity
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
Ensure compliance with all safety standards and operating procedures
Operate equipment safely and train team members on proper procedures
Inventory Receiving & Processing
Coordinate unloading and receiving of incoming truckloads
Verify inventory against manifests and shipping documents
Ensure merchandise is accurately processed, labeled, and prepared for sale
Monitor inventory flow from receiving through warehouse storage and onto the sales floor
Minimize damaged, misplaced, or unaccounted-for inventory
Inventory Organization
Develop and maintain organized warehouse systems
Ensure products are properly staged and stored
Maintain inventory accuracy and location tracking
Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits as needed
Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
Team Leadership
Hire, train, coach, and develop warehouse staff
Hold team members accountable for productivity and performance
Create schedules and manage labor efficiency
Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions when necessary
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
Retail Support
Work closely with store management to ensure merchandise reaches the sales floor quickly
Prioritize high-value and high-demand inventory
Assist with merchandising and inventory movement as needed
Support store operations during peak periods
Qualifications
3+ years of warehouse, logistics, inventory, or operations management experience preferred
Strong leadership and team management skills
Forklift experience preferred
Experience receiving and processing large shipments
Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise, including furniture and appliances
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Proficient with inventory systems, spreadsheets, and technology
