We are seeking an experienced and reliable Dirt Foreman / Underground Foreman to oversee and coordinate field operations for sitework and underground utility construction projects. This role is responsible for supervising crews, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining project schedules, and delivering high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and lead crews in excavation, grading, trenching, and underground utility installation (water, sewer, storm drain).
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes.
• Coordinate daily activities, equipment usage, and material needs.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and team members.
• Monitor project progress and adjust workflows to meet deadlines.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications.
• Train and mentor crew members.
Qualifications:
• 3–7+ years of experience in dirt work, excavation, and underground utilities.
• Proven leadership or foreman experience on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of grading, trenching, pipe installation, and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with GPS machine control systems.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Ability to operate equipment such as excavators, loaders, graders, and skid steers.
