This is was made by Liberty Safe company, located in Payson, Utah, and is recognized as one of the best safe companies in the US. This Premium Home Safe (Model LX-08) has a UL listed safe body, with an 11-gauge steel body. It has 5 strong steel round bolts as its locking mechanism into its steel frame (shown extended in one of the photos), and interlocking fireboards which give it a 90 minute /1200ºF fire rating. (The average house fire burns at 1,100 degrees and most fires are over within 30 minutes.) It has an electronic keypad, which means you don’t have to worry about losing the key. (You can choose numbers that you will always remember (an old address, part of your SS number, your child’s birthday) or you can write it down and secure it in a safe place.)

In today’s world, it is important to secure your important documents, jewelry, other valuables and guns from both thievery and a house fire. This safe does both. On the door, are 2 small pockets for you to slide some credit cards into, and a larger pocket into which you can place other items, to separate them from the other items in the safe.

It has a gray fabric interior, which prevents it from scratching your valuables. The photo shows just one shelf – there is an additional shelf which can be used if you need it. The bottom layer lifts out (shown in one of the photos), to reveal 4 holes which you can use to drill bolts into the underlying surface to prevent the safe from being removed.

The safe is 30” x 24” x 22.5”. We paid more than $1000 for it (not including delivery and installation) many years ago.
