Purebred kunekune pigs are known for their docile nature. They are considered to be one of the most gentle and docile pig breeds. These pigs are as affectionate as puppies, a great breed to have around little kids. They love belly rubs and piggie kisses (nose nudging). They are great for homesteads, with their sweet temperament and smaller size - being smaller than a lot of other breeds and, therefore, more manageable for smaller farms. They are also a good breed for pasturing because of the shape of their snouts, meaning that they will not uproot a pasture like other pig breeds do.
