A New Shipment Has Arrived Sept 2025 -- get'em while they last ;--))
NEVER have to replace another cracked or broken pot ;--)
I have a number of "converted/repurposed" old Cast Iron semi-truck/bus brake hubs that make excellent "planting/decor pots" that unlike clay or other types of "pots" WILL NOT break !! They are very attractive -- especially in a "rustic" sense and as they age ( and rust ) can develop even better natural patinas . They weigh from 80 to 100 pounds each ( a two person carry ) when empty and will not easily "disappear" from where you might want to place them ( in addition -- I have suggestions on how they can be made even more secure )
They have been cleaned to remove most of the dirt, grime and loose rust scale.
Plants "love" the iron that the post are made of !! The addition of "iron" helps plants grow better as its "iron" leaches from the pot.
The sizes and quantity of the specific pots are as follows :
2ea 9 1/4" deep x 17 1/2" od x 15" id
2ea 8 3/4" deep x 17" od x 15" id
1ea 10 1/2" deep x 19" od x 16 1/2" id
6ea 11" deep x 19" od x 16 1/2" id
There are also 2ea "smaller" pots that measure 5 1/2" deep x 14" od x 11" id that I am asking $20each for.
The large hole in the center at the bottom can be left as is or lined with plastic ( punch drain holes in the plastic so that it will still drain ). I do have some round plates that could be used if you wanted a semi solid bottom in the pot ( at a slight additional charge )
IN ADDITION I also have two pots that are smaller in size !! They measure 9" tall x 15"id x 16 1/2"od. I am asking $30ea for them.
There are also 4 very unusual "pots" ( see pic#4 ) that were originally buried Valve Box Top Section ( w/o the lid ) for buried utility valves and very heavy as well that can also be used as a "pot" or whatever might come into your mind :--)) They measure 15 1/2" id and taper down to 10" id at the bottom. The are 8 1/2" tall and the "ring" at the base is 15"od I am asking $35ea for them as well.
As a Repurposed Metal Artist, I often use large pots as the "base" on which I build my free standing art pieces by turning them upside down and adapting a base place to them !
They can also be adapted for use as a moveable fence post base by filling them with concrete after placing a post in the center of the pot
IF you plan to use one of these "pots" for planting "LIVE" plants some means should be used to "insulate" the inside with a "liner" that will help reduce the direct effect of the heat on the roots of the plant. This is the same case with clay pots
Another option for one would be as a small FIRE PIT that could be used in a confined area where as large one would not work . It would "radiate" a lot of heat as well. It too would be ideal and last a long time !!!!
The pots in the background are "double stacked" using 2 pots -- one turned up side down at the bottom.
For this style "pot" I am asking $40 EACH or 2 for $75 ---
I frequently get "new ( to me ) pots" so I keep this ad up "just in case" !!!!!!
