If you’ve seen another of our listings, this one’s going to sound familiar. However, we SWEAR that it’s a different chest from: https://tucson.craigslist.org/fuo/d/tucson-hand-carved-hand-painted/7855891292.html. It’s just that the Bali origin, construction, and the fact that it’s hand-painted are EXACTLY THE SAME.
However, the shape, colors, and dimensions are different. Just look at the pictures and you’ll get the idea.
Our parents collected a bunch of these chests during their travels and now we’re helping them downsize their home.
So, please, enjoy this bit of rerun text…
This delightful bit of folk art was imported from Bali. Uncertain what kind of wood, but it’s both solid and surprisingly light (from a weight standpoint), making it easy to move around. The relief carvings give it a three-dimensional feel and the painting draws your eye. And just look at those little feet it stands on! Just high enough above the floor that your kitty will love rolling her toys under there, then looking at you to retrieving them. Too much fun.
The inside is great for stashing your journals, sweaters (mothballs recommended), the worn out DVD box set from your favorite show, and anything you threw in there ‘cause guests were coming and you had to tidy up post-haste.
tl;dr: Cute carved/painted chest from Bali; looks brilliant in your room; useful.
