This is a brand new key making machine. Never been out of the box!
You remember those ads in magazines - "You can be a Locksmith!". Sounded easy and fun. I had a Locksmith friend and he was busy!
You signed up for the course. Paid so much each month. When you did you got a lesson in the course and misc stuff. You never got the actual key making machine till the end. So for almost 18 months I kept sending in money. I made it thru 25 lessons and just got tired of it. I didn't want to do it anymore and was doing other things. But I had a contract and was so close to completion I paid it off and the company sent me the last 5-lessons and the key making machine. I had paid about $1500 by now. The machine came and I never opened it up and put it on a shelf in my warehouse. I moved out of my warehouse after 32 years and put stuff in storage lockers. I am slowly emptying those. Anyhow, I came across the machine.
Brand new, in the box. $400.
It is just the machine. No blanks or inventory. That was separate and a way for the company to make more money off you.
I also have the last 5-lessons still shrink-wrapped as they came as well as some practice blanks and locks to work on. I would sell that group for $100. After you sent your practice pieces back you got your diploma as a Certified Locksmith.
This is a beginner's machine. It does basic key blanks. You can go as far as you want with this and make keys part-time or full-time. Foley-Belsaw is still very much around if you want to buy bigger and more expensive machines. You can also get your blanks from them. I'm sure you can get blanks from many sources.
Obviously I am not desperate to sell this. I'm just putting it out there. If it doesn't go right away, I might give it to my grandkids as a way to make some money. Everyone needs keys!
