Job Overview - Pizza Cook / Food Prep
Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the other cooks with their daily tasks. A successful Line Cook pays close attention to detail and utilizes active listening skills to follow the execution process the kitchen manager provides. They always keep their station clean, tidy, and well-stocked to ensure food safety and high-quality dishes.
Pizza Cook / Food Prep Responsibilities
• Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, cutting meats, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow the kitchen manager’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Pizza Cook / Food Prep Requirements and skills
• Preferred experience as a Line Cook, Pizza / Restaurant Cook, or food prep
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to be mobile for a minimum of 3 hours, bend, stoop and lift a moderate weight
• Familiar with industry’s / health department best practices
