Miller Sales & Engineering is seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) to lead full lifecycle engineering projects for custom pumping and fluid-handling systems.
This role manages projects from concept through design, fabrication, and on-site startup. It’s a hands-on position working closely with sales, fabrication, and field teams.
Responsibilities
• Manage engineering projects from concept through startup and commissioning
• Coordinate with sales, fabrication, repair teams, vendors, and customers
• Provide technical support for proposals, system design, and project scope
• Work with fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable
• Support field startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning
• Maintain project documentation and engineering standards
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license -Required
• Minimum 5+ years of engineering experience
• Experience with pumps, piping, fluid-handling systems, and mechanical assemblies
• Experience managing engineering projects from design through startup
• Proficiency with parametric 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel 5–10% for site visits and startup support
Preferred Experience
• Mining industry experience (strongly preferred)
• Slurry, centrifugal, vertical turbine, or submersible pumps
• Experience working directly with fabrication or repair teams
• Project-based or engineered-to-order environments
