Offered for the first time in Arizona, a rare Vintage Mint Green Thunderbird Premium. This one year only color and was available for order for only a few months in 2003 on 2004 Thunderbirds. Ford cut off ordering on October 24, 2003, but produced into December to complete orders. Only 612 out of a total 2004 production of 12,757 units were made. This color is not a solid pastel as it appears. Ford calls it a "pearl type" color. Under certain light, metal flakes can be seen. It is truly a retro color reminiscent of the original 50's Thunderbird.
At the time of our purchase. October 2012, we could not find a VMG T-bird anywhere near Tucson. We traveled to Dallas, Texas to purchase this car. We did not purchase as a collectible, but as a driver, to be driven and enjoyed, not just to stare at. During our ownership, it has always been garaged and meticulously maintained. We have spent over $10,000 in the last three years to keep it at the level of our other collector cars. We even went to the expense of removing the engine to replace every gasket (reseal). The transmission was rebuilt at the same time. Repair / maintenance costs have never been a factor. We can furnish a detailed list of these costs upon request.
We encourage any potential buyer to view this car as well as our other cars which will illustrate the meticulous attention we give our vehicles.
The asking price is significantly lower than comparable Thunderbirds, simply because the mileage is much higher. We feel it is reasonable considering the rarity of this bird.
