The covering appears to be brass. When extended, they read "SA" on one side and "Bird" on the other side. The glass is clear with no cracks or chips. The compass is stuck. There is a small dent on one side and a small dent to the eye piece on one side. The lettering is crisp, and they work well. The case shows wear.
