I am a local Tucson artist and I work exclusively in the medium of watercolor, with a few mixed media paintings. My inspiration comes from a lifetime of hiking and photographing the wilderness and wildlife of Arizona. I have also been fortunate to travel internationally to 3 continents and 12 countries outside of the U.S., providing an endless source of reference photos. Many of my paintings represent a ‘memory’ from those adventures, and there is a strong emotional connection. I hope to convey that in my work. If you feel something that pulls you in when you look at a painting I've done, then I have succeeded.
Most of my paintings (there are a few exceptions) will fit standard 18x24”, 20x24”, 24x30” commercial frames with matting. Some smaller paintings start at $150.00. The majority start at $250.00 and go up from there. I use only the highest quality professional materials. Paint brands include Daniel Smith, M.Graham, Winsor Newton and Holbein. My watercolor paper produced in France by the Arches company, which has been making paper since the 1400’s. It is 100% cotton rag both 140# weight and 300# weight, cold press texture.
