In Cuba a woman paid less than 5 cents for a medication that she was charged $120 for back home, while in Britain there is a £6.95 maximum charge on any prescription. In France, if you have a medical condition you are paid by the government & the employer to rest up. The myth of long lines to see a GP in Canada are blown away.

Gloriously informing us that insurance and pharmaceutical companies are vile profit driven machines who lobby hard in Washington and buyout politicians left and right isn't exactly telling us something we didn't already know. Scary still are the review board doctors working for the insurance companies who get paid big bonuses for denying the most claims, and saddest of all, the people who actually die from not getting their treatment. Moore, never shying from his political leanings, firmly points his finger at Nixon (whose policies paved the way for HMO's), Reagan (who propagated the idea of socialized medicine as the first sign of Communist invasion), and Bush (who signed into law prescription drug bills that have crippled our senior citizens). He also suggests that Hillary Clinton, whose own health care plan was shot down by special interests back in the early 1990's, is now on the same payroll after losing the good fight.
Moore really scores, though, when he starts globe hopping and shows us just how well socialized medicine works in countries like Canada, Great Britian, and France, and how much all of the people involved (doctors and patients) think it's wonderful and that our system is absurd. The most telling anecdote is when he's able to get a group of 9/11 heroes suffering from the debilitating effects of having worked at Ground Z for some much needed treatment in Cuba (of all places!) after they have been repeatedly denied by their insurance companies here in the States.

Councilwoman Uhlich singled out Tea Partiers in particular, casually using the sexual slur "tea baggers" to refer to us.
We expect this level of slander from Pima Democrats Chairman Jeff Rogers, who calls us racists and extremists on a near daily basis, but from an elected Councilwoman?
This is just mean and spiteful, and is unbefitting an elected councilwoman who purports to represent Ward 3. However, her words do befit her character, so don't be surprised to see a slew of attack ads from her campaign in the days before the vote.

The embassy bombings were responded by airstrikes in Afghanistan that were meant to target Bin-Laden and Al-Qaeda. Not to mention the stern warning from Clinton to the Taliban that any further acts of terrorism perpetrated by AQ would rupture relations between Afghanistan and America, even leading to a military incursion.
The results of an investigation conducted by our intelligence agencies didn't attribute blame to Al-Qaeda for the attacks on the Cole until late December of 2000. Since the country was in the midst of a transition of power from one president to a successor; Clinton didn't want to boggle Bush down in a military conflict before taking the reigns of power. So, Clinton's team communicated this intelligence to Bush's team, and the rest is history.

Kerry, like many Democrats facing reelection in 2002, chose to sell out the constitution to grant Bush the unconstitutional authority to initiate military action at will largely due to the politically inconvenient timing of said vote. Kerry, did say, on the campaign trail in 2004, that he would've still supported going into Iraq with all we knew at that point. Then again, this was all half a year prior to the conclusion drawn by our own weapons inspectors that there were no WMDs in Iraq.

In response to your lack of knowledge as to what is transpiring in Iraq and what occured in Vietnam:
John Kerry's testimony regarding proceeds in Vietnam were both heartfelt and spoken on behalf of fellow veterans who witnessed, or even partook in those atrocities. There is now documented evidence that would be fairly easy to find with a simple google search of the numerous allegations of Vietnam Vets, Vietnamese citizens and even the press, among many others. You live in a fantasy world where this country is a God-send for the oppressed around the world, wake the f*ck up already.
As mentioned before, Kerry was never fully supportive of war in Iraq, but that is where his unconstitutional vote took us. Iraq was exactly what Kerry described it to be: wrong war, wrong place, wrong time. Given the FACT that 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudi, maybe Saudi Arabia should've assumed a more central standing in our focus in response to those horrible attacks, but NOT ONE hijacker had any connection to Iraq.
Saddam was an ENEMY of Al-Qaeda, he feared their intentions as per his government and they detested his secular rule. Remember that one of the many reasons he was so admonished was that he was a monster of the CIA's creation. WE launched two coups that installed Hussein at the helm of power in the former colony of England. The first failed as that goverment collapsed shortly after he was placed in control, and the second was successful only after our government took a more active role in sustaining his power.
We supplied him with the weapons he used on his enemies both domestic and foreign, but we didn't complain about his crimes until it became politically expedient to shift sides.
Our military is broken. Your denial of such is evidence of your stupidity. We don't have a grand military like we did during World War Two, so it is incredibly strenuous for our military personnel to contend with two occupations as well as the litany of our obligations throughout the globe. That's why a draft reinstitution is not far from a reality if the present course is kept.
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan ARE OVER!! The former in May 2003 and the latter in December 2001. We are presently dealing with an insurgency against our occupations of those countries. We diverted our focus from the real problem in Afghanistan - to our detriment considering the resurgent movement there - to an unrelated "enemy" where we bear over 90% of the burden on every front. The peace CAN'T be won militarily, because it is counterproductive to wage war to win peace.
Peace is won diplomatically with economic aid. We know full well that schools must be built, good jobs created, services restored, people fed and housed, and finally the power and oil returned to the rightful owners: the Iraqis.
There is ample proof of war crimes being commited on a large scale in Iraq, Afghanistan and in Guantanamo Bay. Just research it, because the preponderance of said crimes are too great to enumerate here.
You forget that the people demanded an end to the Vietnam War, which was another illegal and unnecessary war born out of the political ambitions of a desperate President amidst a myriad of lies. Congress cut off funding for the Vietnam War because that was their responsibility for having given Johnson the unconstitutional power to invade in the first place, just as that is the responsibility of Congress now.

Informing the world of the atrocious crimes commited at Abu Ghraib was vital to maintain our credibility as an opponent of war crimes and other acts of an inhumane nature. Your misguided comparison of the Islamic fundamentalists with the tyrannical Nazis is further proof of your detached view of the world. Nazis were created by a political party, hell bent on control, whereas the members Al-Qaeda are rejecting policies of the western world, its meddling with Arab affairs and defiling of Muslim holy ground. Our departure from Iraq and even Afghanistan would be an inspiration to the people of those countries, and would be a deadly blow dealt to Al-Qaeda because their biggest recruiting tool will have disintegrated. Members who've joined since the war in Iraq began would lose their incentive to remain, unless conditions continue to crumble with poor/no jobs, education, services, etc.

Emergency powers trump the Bill of Rights
That’s the public explanation for this, but the real agenda behind this declaration may be far more sinister. Declaring a national emergency immediately gives federal authorities dangerous new powers that can now be enforced at gunpoint, including:
• The power to force mandatory swine flu vaccinations on the entire population.
• The power to arrest, quarantine or "involuntarily transport" anyone who refuses a swine flu vaccination.
• The power to quarantine an entire city and halt all travel in or out of that city.
• The power to enter any home or office without a search warrant and order the destruction of any belongings or structures deemed to be a threat to public health.
• The effective nullification of the Bill of Rights. Your right to due process, to being safe from government search and seizure, and to remain silent to avoid self-incrimination are all null and void under a Presidential declaration of a national emergency.
None of this means that federal agents are going to march door to door arresting people at gunpoint if they refuse the vaccine, but they could if they wanted to. Your rights as an American are no longer recognized under this national emergency declaration.
What emergency?
The declaration of this national emergency seems suspicious from the start. Where’s the emergency? The number of people killed by swine flu in the United States is far smaller than the number of people killed each year from seasonal flu, according to CDC statistics. People obviously aren’t dropping dead by the millions from H1N1 influenza. Most people are just getting mild flu symptoms and a few days later they’re fine.
So where’s the emergency?
The only emergency I can see is the emergency fabricated by Big Pharma to sell more vaccines. By declaring a national emergency over the H1N1 pandemic, Obama is playing right into their hands.
I find the timing of all this curious. Two days ago, New York gave up on its efforts to require mandatory vaccinations of health care workers. This was designed to defuse a large number of planned protests from health freedom-conscious people who don’t want government-mandated chemicals pumped into their veins.
The planned protests in New York would have fueled yet more resistance among health care workers across the country, and had it been allowed to continue, it could have resulted in a huge nationwide backlash against swine flu vaccines. By backing off the vaccine mandate and blaming it on a vaccine shortage (http://www.naturalnews.com/027313_N…), and then having Obama declare a national emergency, our state and national leaders have halted the protests and put in place a pro-vaccine Big Brother mandate that can be enforced at gunpoint.
Big Pharma must be pleased with all this. With these emergency powers in place, all that’s necessary to force vaccinations upon the entire population is a larger supply of the vaccines — and that’s coming in November.

The History of Historically Black Colleges and Universities
A tradition rich in history
The Historical Black College and University — A Rich TraditionThe First HBCUs
Before the Civil War, higher education for African American students was virtually nonexistent. The few who did receive schooling, such as Fredrick Douglass, often studied in informal and sometimes hostile settings. Some were forced to teach themselves entirely. Some schools for elementary and secondary training existed, such as the Institute for Colored Youth, a school started in the early 1830s by a group of Philadelphia Quakers. A college education was also available to a limited number of students at schools like Oberlin College in Ohio and Berea College in Kentucky.
A Need to Improve Education
In the years following the Civil War, with the 13th Amendment's abolition of slavery and reconstruction in the South, things began to change. In 1862, senator Justin Morrill spearheaded a movement to improve the state of public higher education throughout the United States, putting an emphasis on the need for institutions to train Americans in the applied sciences, agriculture, and engineering. The Morrill Land-Grant Act gave federal lands to the states for the purpose of opening colleges and universities to educate farmers, scientists, and teachers. Although many such institutions were created, few were open or inviting to blacks, particularly in the South. Only Alcorn State University in Mississippi was created explicitly as a black land-grant college. It would be 28 years before Senator Morrill rectified this problem. The solution came with the second Morrill Land-Grant Act of 1890, which specified that states using federal land-grant funds must either make their schools open to both blacks and whites or allocate money for segregated black colleges to serve as an alternative to white schools. Sixteen exclusively black institutions received 1890 land-grant funds.
Most of these public schools were founded by state legislatures between 1870 and 1910. Prior to this, it was the initiative of many blacks themselves, along with the support of the American Missionary Association (AMA) and the Freedmen's Bureau, that was responsible for setting up private colleges and universities for the education of blacks. African American churches ran their own elementary and secondary education for southern blacks, preparing them for vocations or advanced studies. This created a demand for higher education, particularly for the institutes to train teachers for work in black schools. Between 1861 and 1870, the AMA founded seven black colleges and 13 normal (teaching) schools. Many of these institutions—along with the private historical black colleges and universities founded later by the AMA, the Freedmen's Bureau, and black churches—became the backbone of black higher education, producing African American leaders for generations to come.
The Course of African American Education
Two graduates from the first generation of students to attend these new black institutions of higher learning came to the forefront in the early twentieth century, each backing a different course for the black college to take.
Booker T.Washington, a freed slave from Virginia, attended the Hampton Normal and Agricultural Institute. There, he was exposed to one of the best examples of elementary and secondary black vocational education in the nation. Hampton, founded by the AMA and the Freedmen's Bureau, focused its efforts on preparing young blacks throughout the South to fill jobs in the skilled trades. Washington became an apprentice of Hampton's president and decided to lead his own school after graduating. In 1881, he took the helm at the fledgling Tuskegee Institute. Tuskegee quickly became famous for its practical curriculum and focus on preparing blacks for many agricultural and mechanical trades. Washington gained notoriety and was soon a celebrity among blacks and whites as the proponent of black advancement through vocational training and racial conciliation. He believed firmly that the best way for freed slaves and other blacks to attain equality in the United States was through the accumulation of power, wealth, and respect by means of hard work in practical trades. The inscription on the Tuskegee University monument to Booker T. Washington reads, “He lifted the veil of ignorance from his people and pointed the way to progress through education and industry.”
W.E.B. DuBois took a very different view of how blacks ought to function in society. Raised in Massachusetts and first exposed to segregation during his undergraduate work at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, DuBois believed that it was essential that blacks receive training not only in vocational fields, but also in the liberal arts. A fierce advocate for civil rights, DuBois feuded very openly with Washington over the proper strategy for educating black university students. DuBois felt quite strongly that Washington's universal vocational training only perpetuated the servitude of slavery. He believed equality and a sense of purpose would only come if talented blacks were allowed to study the arts and sciences. Then they could become leaders and teachers for the next generation. It is impossible to say which of these views triumphed. Each, in its own way, lives on today in modern HBCUs. Many colleges and universities seem to be embracing both schools of thinking—students receive practical, technical training grounded in the liberal arts.
Historical Black Colleges and Universities Gain Credibility
Throughout the period of this debate, attendance at HBCUs increased substantially, as did financial support from the government and individual philanthropists such as John D. Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie. HBCUs also gained credibility and respect when the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools began formally surveying and accrediting them in 1928.
New Challenges
Historical black colleges and universities would soon face many new challenges, though. The Great Depression and World War II left many black colleges in a financial crisis. Despite improvements in funding in previous years, most land-grant HBCUs were still dismally underfunded when compared to their white counterparts. Private HBCUs were in an even tougher bind. The depression had wiped out many of their sources of philanthropy. Fundraising was becoming very difficult and distracting administrators from issues of improving education. In 1943, Dr. Fredrick D. Patterson, president of the Tuskegee Institute, published an open letter to the presidents of private HBCUs urging them to band together, pooling their resources and fundraising abilities. The next year, the United Negro College Fund began its activities soliciting donations to private HBCUs, with far greater efficacy than any one of its member colleges alone.
Brown v. The Board of Education
Ten years later, public HBCUs and black students across the nation became the beneficiaries of the Supreme Court's decision in the case of Brown v. The Board of Education. The court's ruling that “separate but equal” schooling was anything but equal meant that states would be forced to better fund the HBCUs and open their other universities to black college-bound student. The case, won by lawyers trained at Howard University, didn't bring immediate relief in many cases, as states protested the ruling. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 gave the federal government greater power to enforce desegregation.
Higher Education Act and Presidential Support
In 1965, the federal government provided aid to HBCUs through the Higher Education Act. It was followed by another important judicial decision, Adams v. Richardson. This case found ten states in violation of the Civil Rights Act for supporting segregated schools. The states were ordered to work actively to integrate institutions, so long as that integration was not carried out at the expense of HBCUs, which were deemed to play an important and unique role in the education of African Americans.
The Carter, Reagan, and Bush administrations thought that HBCUs were significant too. President Carter established a program aimed at strengthening and expanding the capacity of the historical black college or university. Reagan issued an executive order aimed at further reversing the effects of previous discriminatory treatment towards black colleges. Congress supported the Reagan order with increased federal funding to HBCUs. Reagan's successor, George Bush, also issued an executive order, this time building on the Reagan order and establishing a commission in the Department of Education responsible for advising the president on matters regarding historically black colleges and universities.
United States v. Fordice
Another pivotal court ruling came in 1992 with the United States Supreme Court's ruling in United States v. Fordice. The court's decision required that Mississippi do away with the remnants of a dual, segregated system of education. This was similar to the Adams decision except that no special circumstances were outlined for the treatment of HBCUs. Supporters of black colleges worried that the decision might hurt African American students in the long run if the support and attention they received at HBCUs was taken away. Desegregation is important, in their view, but should never be viewed as a reason for putting black students in a disadvantageous situation.
Many self promoting black celebrities have been publicly referred to as racists. Repeatedly.

Racism itself requires that the perpetrator be able to exercise undo influence on the affairs of another person. Like one hundred years ago when people put out "No Irish need apply" signs. The common perception was that the Irish were lazy, prone to theft and untrustworthy in business. Almost all ethnic groups have been discriminated against in this manner. These attitudes and behaviours made it difficult for people in those groups to get well paying jobs or to achieve advancement in the jobs they could secure. Similar attitudes were expressed against women at one time.
Over time these groups were eventually integrated and it would be quite eccentric and illegal to not hire Women, the Irish or even Italians. For some reason blacks and hispanics never fully escaped that segregation. I suppose the easy answer is their skin color makes it simple to discern they are not from majority European stock. It makes it easy to suggest they are different. That they are lazy, prone to theft and untrustworthy in business. Just like the Irish or Polish or Russians or Welsh or French or any of the other groups that were previously discriminated against.
So when a black majority population exerts an undo influence upon your life you can squeak like an infant.
But that won't stop you, you'll cry and whine anyway won't you?

The Minnesota Free Market Institute hosted an event at Bethel University in St. Paul on Wednesday evening. Keynote speaker Lord Christopher Monckton, former science adviser to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, gave a scathing and lengthy presentation, complete with detailed charts, graphs, facts, and figures which culminated in the utter decimation of both the pop culture concept of global warming and the credible threat of any significant anthropomorphic climate change.
A detailed summary of Monckton’s presentation will be available here once compiled. However, a segment of his remarks justify immediate publication. If credible, the concern Monckton speaks to may well prove the single most important issue facing the American nation, bigger than health care, bigger than cap and trade, and worth every citizen’s focused attention.
Here were Monckton’s closing remarks, as dictated from my audio recording:
At [the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in] Copenhagen, this December, weeks away, a treaty will be signed. Your president will sign it. Most of the third world countries will sign it, because they think they’re going to get money out of it. Most of the left-wing regime from the European Union will rubber stamp it. Virtually nobody won’t sign it.
I read that treaty. And what it says is this, that a world government is going to be created. The word “government” actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity. The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfication of what is called, coyly, “climate debt” – because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t. We’ve been screwing up the climate and they haven’t. And the third purpose of this new entity, this government, is enforcement.
How many of you think that the word “election” or “democracy” or “vote” or “ballot” occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty? Quite right, it doesn’t appear once. So, at last, the communists who piled out of the Berlin Wall and into the environmental movement, who took over Greenpeace so that my friends who funded it left within a year, because [the communists] captured it – Now the apotheosis as at hand. They are about to impose a communist world government on the world. You have a president who has very strong sympathies with that point of view. He’s going to sign it. He’ll sign anything. He’s a Nobel Peace Prize [winner]; of course he’ll sign it.

And the trouble is this; if that treaty is signed, if your Constitution says that it takes precedence over your Constitution (sic), and you can’t resign from that treaty unless you get agreement from all the other state parties – And because you’ll be the biggest paying country, they’re not going to let you out of it.
So, thank you, America. You were the beacon of freedom to the world. It is a privilege merely to stand on this soil of freedom while it is still free. But, in the next few weeks, unless you stop it, your president will sign your freedom, your democracy, and your humanity away forever. And neither you nor any subsequent government you may elect will have any power whatsoever to take it back. That is how serious it is. I’ve read the treaty. I’ve seen this stuff about [world] government and climate debt and enforcement. They are going to do this to you whether you like it or not.
But I think it is here, here in your great nation, which I so love and I so admire – it is here that perhaps, at this eleventh hour, at the fifty-ninth minute and fifty-ninth second, you will rise up and you will stop your president from signing that dreadful treaty, that purposeless treaty. For there is no problem with climate and, even if there were, an economic treaty does nothing to [help] it.
So I end by saying to you the words that Winston Churchill addressed to your president in the darkest hour before the dawn of freedom in the Second World War. He quoted from your great poet Longfellow:

Lord Monckton received a standing ovation and took a series of questions from members of the audience. Among those questions were these relevent to the forthcoming Copenhagen treaty:
Question: The current administration and the Democratic majority in Congress has shown little regard for the will of the people. They’re trying to pass a serious government agenda, and serious taxation and burdens on future generations. And there seems to be little to stop them. I don’t minimize the difficulty. But on this subject – I don’t really do politics, because it’s not right. In the end, your politics is for you. The correct procedure is for you to get onto your representatives, both in the US Senate where the bill has yet to go through (you can try and stop that) and in [the House], and get them to demand their right of audience (which they all have) with the president and tell him about this treaty. There are many very powerful people in this room, wealthy people, influential people. Get onto the media, tell them about this treaty. If they go to www.wattsupwiththat.com, they will find (if they look carefully enough) a copy of that treaty, because I arranged for it to be posted there not so long ago. Let them read it, and let the press tell the people that their democracy is about to be taken away for no good purpose, at least [with] no scientific basis [in reference to climate change]. Tell the press to say this. Tell the press to say that, even if there is a problem [with climate change], you don’t want your democracy taken away. It really is as simple as that.

I would be very careful not to rely on things like that. Although there is a certain amount of doubt whether or not he was born in Hawaii, my fear is it would be very difficult to prove he wasn’t born in Hawaii and therefore we might not be able to get anywhere with that. Besides, once he’s signed that treaty, whether or not he signed it validly, once he’s signed it and ratified it – your Senate ratifies it – you’re bound by it. But I will say one thing; they know, in the White House, that they won’t be able to get the 67 votes in the Senate, the two-thirds majority that your Constitution has stipulated must be achieved in order to ratify a treaty of this kind. However, what they’ve worked out is this – and they actually let it slip during the election campaign, which is how I know about it. They plan to enact that Copenhagen treaty into legislation by a simple majority of both houses. That they can do. But the virtue of that – and here you have a point – is that is, thank God, reversible. So I want you to pray tonight, and pray hard for your Senate that they utterly refuse to ratify the [new] Treaty of Copenhagen, because if they refuse to ratify it and [Obama] has to push it through as domestic legislation, you can repeal it.
Regardless of whether global warming is taking place or caused to any degree by human activity, we do not want a global government empowered to tax Americans without elected representation or anything analogous to constitutional protections. The Founding Fathers would roll over in their graves if they knew their progeny allowed a foreign power such authority, effectively undoing their every effort in an act of Anti-American Revolution. If that is our imminent course, we need to put all else on hold and focus on stopping it. If American sovereignty is ceded, all other debate is irrelevant.
