photographer starting a new personal project...this project is shooting people in their personal space..be it your garage/house/bedroom/rest room/ kitchen/ studio/ anywhere that you consider your personal space, this isn't for profit or commercial use rather its just what it is a personal art project. At this moment you are wondering why would he want to photograph me in my personal space? well that's a great question, and rather then go in to a lengthy artist answer, I prefer to leave it simple, I find it intriguing. Another question you may be wondering to your self by now is well what is in it for me? I would like to think the good nature of helping some one pursuit their personal art projects would be enough, but I know its not so this is what you get for helping me out digital copies of the shots I took of you in your space and my forever gratitude for helping me out (which I herd is priceless).

Elemental Artistry is getting ready to participate in the Parade of Lights again this year, December 12 around 6pm.

The parade is sponsored by the downtown Tucson partnership. It's lots of fun!

We will wear silver/white costumes, each person designed their own costume and we used glow poi. This year we are welcoming anyone who LED hoops, LED poi spins or juggles LED.

Here is the rehearsal schedule for the parade of lights:

Monday November 30 and December 7th at 6pm at the park located at Mable and 14th st. 1331 N. 14th Ave Tucson, AZ 85705

Poi spinners need to come to both, hoopers or jugglers only need to come to the December 7th rehearsal.

Any poi spinners with glow poi, or LED hoopers, jugglers with LED please pass the word on.

We may have 2 poi groups, one group who is intermediate/advanced, one group of beginners. All are welcome!

JEFF OWEN, nationally renowned local San Francisco Bay Area sculptor, announces his winter fine art events schedule in Arizona. Jeff Owen will be displaying and sell his abstract STEEL metal sculptures in Arizona on the third weekend in November and first and second weekends in December 2009.

Jeff Owen is known for his unique abstract steel sculptures using found metal. Jeff Owen describes his art as the past combined into the present, mingling of age, time, and space into congruent single form, the many into one. His technique is brute force, decide-at-the-moment. His creative process emerges with patterns that he incorporates into all of my sculptures. He creates art that is completely unique, something no one has done before. He resists conformity and mass production and that his art is as individual as he is.

Jeff Owen�s sculptures haven�t gone un-noticed by the art world and art collectors. He was honored to be invited to bid on the sculptures gifted to the 35 world leaders at the G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, PA and organized by the US State Department. The Ancestors Project is seeking a crew of bright, and technically-minded individuals who would assist in the setup and tear-down of the Ancestors Installation on the night of the All Souls Procession, November 8, 2009. Duties would include transporting projectors to the designated installation sites, laying out cabling, setting up DVD players or laptops, and supervising the sites during the Procession.
There are two designated points where we will be projecting, at 4th Avenue & Congress, and along Stone Avenue. By volunteering for this crew you will not be able to walk in the Procession.
In addition, we are also in need of ONE Ancestry Archiver who can regularly check our Ancestors e-mail for submitted photographs between now and Saturday, November 7th, 2009. The Archiver will be prepping images for the Ancestors installation sites.

Procession of the Little Angels (Central Tucson)

Volunteers are needed to help with preparations for The Procession of Little Angels, the All Souls Procession Weekend children's festival exploring themes of mortality, ancestry and the celebration of Life.

Activity will include cutting and whitewashing cardboard wings and preparing various other props that kids will creatively personalize and use on the day of the event. Ideas for new projects and better efficiency are encouraged. Come co-create this all-inclusive community event for families with us!

No experience of any kind is necessary, and you do not need to be skilled in any particular kind of craft. We are seeking people of all ages and varieties who merely share an interest in community building, teamwork, and children's life enrichment.

Time: Sunday afternoons, October 4th through November 1st from 1pm to 4 pm; and Wednesday evenings, October 7th through November 4th from 6 pm to 9 pm .

Place: Sculpture Resource Center @ 640 N. Stone ave, between 6th st, and University ave.

In addition, we are still seeking assistance from people with sewing skills and machines who want to participate in the upcoming children's Costuming Workshops throughout the month of October. If you know anyone who may be interested, please pass this information on to them.
